URBAN HERITAGE GUIDELINES

KALAW, MYANMAR, 2018

Facilitator of a 5-month bottom-up trajectory to assist the newly established Kalaw Tourism Organisation (KTO) in Myanmar’s Shan State to put together a set of guidelines that first articulate the need to treasure the unique qualities of the town and secondly, suggest a list of measures (do’s and don’t s to preserve the streetscape while allowing for modernisation. The guidelines bear no legal status but are used by the KTO and the Kalaw municipality for property owners, businesses and investors in the heritage town.
