COASTAL TRAIL CHALLENGE

HONG KONG ISLAND, HONG KONG, 2022

Designing Hong Kong and Trailwatch

Creative Concept: A one-month event to promote and brand the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail, a 65 km long walking route circumnavigating Hong Kong Island’s coastline. Participants took part in teams of 2-5 px navigating around the island, solving clues and taking photos on the way. A Covid-proof event, teams walked at their own convenience using the Trailwatch and iDiscover App to navigate and track their progress competing in five categories to win over HK$50K worth of prizes from sustainable Hong Kong brands including Ocean Park, lululemon and Pizza Express. There were also discounts at selected F&B outlets along the trail.

Objective: The annual event is a joint effort of three NGO’s to improve, promote and brand the Hong Kong Island Coastal Trail by connecting the missing links and improving the wayfinding with the ultimate objective to make the Coastal Trail will be a household name similar to the likes of the Maclehose Trail and the Wilson Trail.

Activities: Digital content creation, event management, sponsor acquisition and design of an illustrated map.
